News Report | Mexico Earthquake

Earthquake in Mexico kills, destroys and cripples the country

An earthquake stroke on September 9th and 19th of 2017. The earthquake damaged areas within Mexico, in Mexico City, Morelos and Puebla. It killed 217 civilians, injured much more and damaged a large number of buildings. At least 217 people have been killed, including 86 in Mexico City, 71 in Morelos and 43 in Puebla state.

It was the most powerful earthquake since one which hit Mexico City in 1985, killing thousands. Dozens of buildings have collapsed, including more than 40 in Mexico City alone. People struggled to get home when power poles that toppled in the quake blocked the streets and the public transportation system temporarily shut down operations. As many people lost their houses and also their working places, they also lost money; the US Geological Survey predicted up to 1,000 fatalities will come from the earthquake, and an economic impact of between one billion dollars and ten billion dollars.

In Mexico City, thousands of soldiers, rescuers and civilians-including college students-were working side by side to dig through tall piles of rubble from dozens of crumbled buildings. This was urgent and necessary, as the quake left the busiest city in Mexico in chaos. Windows buckled and shattered, falling several stories to the ground while thousands of people streamed into the streets running away from buildings and potential gas leaks. Also Nearly 5 million customers were still without power early Wednesday. Moreover,

Tuesday’s earthquake took place on the anniversary of a devastating earthquake that killed thousands in Mexico City in 1985.

People all around the world have been helping Mexico in many ways, bu donating money and food. Many organizations have been created to help the citizens to overpass this terrible incident. Although it is difficult, as the chief of an expedition once said: “When you are there for an emergency, involved in the incident, you become a part of it, too”, the incredible effort that they put has really helped, and hopefully more people like these will appear in a near future to work for a more positive future for Mexico.

Christian the Lion Autobiography

Hi!I’m Christian the lion. Now, I’m going to talk about my life as a human pet and as a wild African animal. The most part of my life, I’d been leaving with humans, so this biohraphy mentions how these humans saved me and helped me to become a strong, savage animal.

All I remember from my first memories is when I was kept in a box alone. I was just a lion cub. I was lonely and I missed my mother too much but all was moved a side when two men called Ace Berg and John Rendall took me to their house. Since then, we had been being good friends.

As I grew up, John and Ace took care of me very well. They played and ran with me all the time. I had a too strong friendship with them to the extent of me starting to trust on human beings. As the size of my body increased, I was taken to the Church’s grounds. Time passed, and I grew bigger and bigger day by day so Ace and John had no other chance to take me to Africa.

Later on, the two humans took me to Africa. It was difficult to let them go, but I adapted quickly. At first, I felt afraid because I had never lived in such a wild, full of animal life place and I didn’t know how to feed myself. As time passed, I met other lions, including my actual wife Ashley, and I learned how to hunt.

One day, I was looking for an animal to hunt when I saw John and Ace. When I saw them watching how I was looking for food, I run as fast as I could and hugged them. In spite of the fact that now I know I don’t need them because I’m one of the strongest lions in the herd, I will never forget them for saving my life.

Writing N°1 Frienship

Dear John,

I’m writing this for you to understand about friendship at the age of twelve.

You are going to pass through good friendships and bad friendships. At your age, I had lots of friends. On one hand, some of them were from my school and, from the other hand, were boys and girls that I met on parties and special events. Also, I had my best friend, who was very different from other kids. My best friend was a girl who was funny, cheerful and trustworthy. However, sometimes she was talkative, annoying and irritating, but I forgived her everytime because she had always been loyal to me. We were best friends because we were always trying to help each other and we always listened patiently the other’s problems, and that’s wwhat you have to do with every single friend you have.

I knew her and all the other kids by just bein myself and trying to be nice a gentle. Nevertheless, you have to be funny and talkative, but not in the irritable way. Then, to hold your friendships, just try to help them, to be nice to them, not to be annoying and, the most important, just be yourself. If you do this, then your friends will make the same to you.

To conclude, to have a friendship is very important because your friends do always help you with anything you need. To achieve this, you must be nice to them, always try to solve their problems and just be yourself. Hope this letter helped you to consider that friends are one of the most important things in your life.

Regards, your father.
